Candy will melt you when she looks into your eyes with her beautiful blues. She loves to be petted, especially on her head and neck. She will stand there forever if you are petting her. Candy is housetrained and gets along well with dogs her size. She does not get along with cats and plays too rough with small dogs. She must also go to a home with children no younger than 13 years old due to the fact that she plays and doesnt realize how big she is.

Candy came to us from a kill shelter pregnant. She was picked up by animal control, and her owner left her in the shelter when he learned she would have to be spayed before he could get her back. She meant nothing to him if she couldn't make him money. Unfortunately, Candy has the Z-factor gene which causes albinism. An ethical breeder would never have bred her in the first place. The Doberman Pinscher Club of America has all members sign an ethics clause stating that they will not breed dogs who carry this gene (normally colored dogs can be carriers) because there are health and behavioral problems associated with this gene. Please research Z-factor Dobermans to learn more.

Candy is photosensitive and does squint in the sunlight. She would love some doggie sunglasses (yes, they do make them) for the sun. Sunscreen is a must as well if she will be out in the sun for an extended period of time. Yes, they also make sunscreen for dogs! Candy must be an INDOOR DOG only because of her sun sensitivity.

All dogs receive a distemper/parvovirus vaccine(s), kennel cough vaccine, rabies vaccine, dewormer, monthly heartworm prevention, microchip, and are spayed/neutered through CARE.
