Shoestring and her companions will be ready to go on 10/29/11. We keep them together until they are 8 weeks old for adequate time to learn about their world by playing with each other. Proper play and bonding time equals healthier, balanced cats in the future!

Shoestring came from the Humane Society of Greenwood, SC. She was rescued by them after it was discovered that someone had her tied outside by a shoestring! Poor, sweet girl! This girl is laid back, super loving with people and other pets. She's a "people cat" for sure! She's fairly neat (for a kitten) and quiet. She asks politely for whatever she desires.

All of these kittens (6 total pulled from the shelter) were at risk of getting sick and being euthanized at the shelters. This is true of most shelters because they simply do not have the resources to keep them healthy or get them well if they become sick, even with simple upper respiratory infections. We pulled them the day they arrived at the shelter. They are in quarantine for 10 days and receiving their first kitten boosters/dewormings.

We are accepting applications now (found on our website www.caretoadopt.org). Email yours today!

Breeds are our best guess based on experience and research.

Applicants must be local to the columbia/lexington area in order in receive vaccinations and neuter through CARE.  A $50 neuter deposit is required in addition to the addoption fee.  This will be refunded by mail within 3 weeks of the neuter appointment.

All kittens receive a series of 2-3 distemper vaccines (based on age), rabies vaccine, several dewormings, FELV test (one from each litter is FELV/FIV combo tested), and are spayed/neutered through CARE.
