Foster is a sweet-natured Sheltie who gets along well with other dogs as well as cats, horses, and chickens. He spent most of his life on a farm. Sadly, the other dogs pick on him relentlessly so he has been climbing the fence to escape. Foster is looking for a quieter home where he will fit in and not be bullied. He does well in the house and is crate trained. An indoor home would suit him best. During his neuter, the Veterinarian discovered that Foster had a previous trauma of unknown cause to his hip. He may have injured it going over the fence, or he could have been bumped by a car when he got out one day. The Veterinarian said surgery is not needed, just joint supplements (recommended for all dogs to keep joints lubricated and strong) and pain meds when needed. Submit your application now to bring this sweet dog home in time for the holidays. All adult dogs receive a rabies vaccine, distemper/parvovirus vaccine, dewormer, monthly heartworm prevention, microchip, and are spayed/neutered through CARE. A completed adoption application and home visit are required to adopt a dog. Once all vetting is complete, we do adopt out of state. The most complete information about available dogs, including their current age and adoption fee, can be found on our official website at www.caretoadopt.org.
