Red was just 12 months old when a sweet, elderly woman rescued him from a chained life. He deserved so much more, but unfortunately, the people who owned him were cruel and neglectful. This sweet woman cared for him daily by sneaking him food and heartworm prevention until she could convince the owners to sell him to her. It's the only way they'd let him go... for a fee.
This kind person begged us to take him into our program and was willing to drive him from NC to SC at the drop of a hat. We agreed, met her halfway and were overjoyed to pull him into our foster care program. Red was fostered privately for a short period of time to receive proper veterinary care. It seems Fate had stepped in from the beginning and his Guardian Angel was waiting for him to arrive, even before he made the long trip to us. Red was quickly adopted by his daddy who was thrilled to welcome him HOME. Red's journey didn't end there. He spent several months in an animal control facility due to false accusations that he was aggressive and being trained to fight. That couldn't be farther from the truth and his daddy would stop at nothing to save his life and bring him home again. He hired an attorney and a professional, qualified dog trainer for temperament testing. He agreed to every requirement forced upon him by the shelter in order to prove to the courts that he was indeed a responsible pet guardian. Red was finally free to go HOME and has been living in bliss with his daddy and a little Pittie sister, Mia, ever since. Thank you to all the Angels who made this possible.
